Happy news! My new album ‘Love it is a Killing Thing’ is out in the world today. It’s available from wherever you listen to, buy or download music.

After holding it all to myself since we recorded it one year ago in Sheffield, I’m so happy that it’s finally yours. Whoosh! There she goes. I hope you love it.

I’m delighted that it’s received play from BBC Radio 2’s Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe, and from Cerys Matthews’ 6 Music show (thank you!) Songlines Magazine also gave it a lovely four star review, calling it ‘folk lovingly, sensitively, powerfully reimagined’.

I made this record with love and care, meaning to make something that felt slower, wiser and deeper than the modern music industry demands of artists. It’s full of old songs I’ve re-imagined, hoping to put some of their old wisdom into a world that, I think, desperately needs it.
